Our Programs

WUDL provides in-depth curriculum, sample evidence sets, videos, and other resources to empower our coaches

Our flagship program allows Middle and High School students to practice on school-based teams and engage in weekend debates about important issues of the day. Competitions are learning oriented, accessible and exciting for all skill levels.

For our most invested students, WUDL supports extra practice and travel to a robust schedule of competitively oriented national tournaments. We also host a large regional competition that serves as a qualifier for the Tournament of Champions (ToC).

Our summer debate institute kicks off the new season, introducing new debaters to the fundamentals of debate, and allowing returning debaters to hone their skills, all the while giving everyone a deep dive on the coming year’s topic.

4th and 5th grade students begin their debate journey by developing fundamental skills like public speaking, using evidence, and active listening in a series of book centered debates.

WUDL works with DC Public Schools and local charter partners to infuse debate into the curriculum. This includes imbedding evidence based argumentation into non-debate courses, supporting debate classes, and a partnership with the Youth Services Center for justice involved youth.

¡El debate es para todos, sin importar tu lengua materna! Este creciente programa desafía intelectualmente a los hispanohablantes, proporciona una comunidad y una plataforma para discutir importantes temas sociales.

Public Debates allow WUDL students to put their advocacy skills into practice, with unique opportunities for to have their voices heard by experts and a public audience on issues of the day
