WUDL Students Visit The NDT (College Nationals)

The Urban Debate National Tournament is around the corner, but a few of our students have their sights set even higher. Today, the National Debate Tournament, or “NDT,” College Debate’s most august and prestigious competition is wrapping up, the top teams in the nation facing off in elimination rounds…..and we’re there to watch it all.

Thanks to some very generous hospitality and transportation from tournament host James Madison University (huge shout out to Coach Mick Souders and JMU Debater Jameson Barba for making it all happen), a number of our Varsity Debaters were able to visit the NDT for the day, hear the best debaters in the nation in elimination rounds, and get a taste of James Madison’s beautiful campus.

This year, Justin Sayoto (Wake Forest, formerly DuVal High School) became the first WUDL alumni to qualify for the competition, and these intrepid students might just follow in his footsteps and set new records of their own.
